In order to bring our students an efficient help in finding their future home in Milan, we enquire at least one month before about their expectations for the accommodation. Specifically, we ask them:
if they prefer to have a whole apartment on their own or to share it with other people (in this case the two main options are a single room or a double room);
what is the student’s monthly budget for the rent;
if there is any other particularity you consider relevant for you.
Here are some hints about cost of renting flats and rooms in Milan:
A bed in a double room costs from 250€ to 400€
A single room costs from 350€ to 550€
A little apartment for one person (20-40 square meters) costs from 600€ to 800€
Usually, if you rent your house directly from a private landlord/landlady, you will have to pay an initial deposit equivalent to 2 or 3 months of rent.
The real estate agencies commission for renting you an apartment is around 10% of one year rent. We always try to put you in contact with private landlords/landladies, but since this is not always possible, we are informing you about real estate agencies conditions.
