Health and insurance

European Union Citizens

European Students don’t need any registration. They can use the European Health Insurance Card.
EU students can ask for health assistance to the ASL (Assistenza Sanitaria Locale) offices in the area they live in, by presenting the European Health Insurance Card.

Non European Union Citizens

Non EU citizens are obliged to get an insurance in order to get the student visa.

NABA highly recommends to get all necessary information regarding covering expenses and where students can use it once in Italy.

Alternatively, should you need at some point to get a new health insurance especially to renew your residence permit NABA suggests to get the INA Assitalia insurance.

How to obtain it:

Go to any Post Office and make a payment through a "bollettino" postale of 98,00 € to account n° 71270003 addressed to:
Ina Assitalia Agenzia Generale di Roma Via del Tritone 181 - 00187 Roma

In the back of the form, for reason of payment ("Causale"), it is necessary to indicate:
Name, surname, and "Copertura assicurativa per cittadino straniero in Italia con permesso di soggiorno di studio."
Keep the receipt of the payment of the "bollettino postale" as this the proof that you have paid the insurance, therefore you will need to include it in the package with the documents for the renewal of the residence permit and of course in case you would need to use the insurance.
